Adult and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners

nurse practioner photo

In their work under the direction of the IHTC physicians, the nurse practitioners are responsible for taking medical histories of patients, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and designing and implementing interventions. The nurse practitioners are also involved in inpatient care at St. Vincent Hospital and assist physicians with on-call duties. IHTC nurse practitioners perform telephone follow-up and consultation with other specialties. They also serve as staff and community educators. By virtue of their advanced training and close interaction with the center’s patient population, IHTC nurse practitioners serve in leadership roles.
