Social Worker

social worker

The social worker evaluates the socioeconomic needs of patients and their families and provides information and referrals to local, state and federal programs such as Children with Special Health Care Needs, ICHIA (Indiana Comprehensive Health Insurance Association), Medicare and Medicaid. The IHTC social worker provides guidance on family functioning and child behavioral issues. She assists school-age patients with scholarship programs and heads the IHTC Santa’s Helpers program, which aids patients in need during the holidays. The IHTC social worker also acts as a liaison with the local National Hemophilia Foundation chapter, Hemophilia of Indiana Inc.
