INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Indiana Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center (IHTC) is proud to announce that it has earned URAC accreditation in Specialty Pharmacy. URAC is the independent leader in promoting healthcare quality through leadership, accreditation, measurement and innovation. By achieving this status, IHTC has demonstrated a comprehensive commitment to quality care, improved processes and better patient outcomes.

The IHTC’s pharmacy program is integrated into the center’s bleeding disorder services. Cost-contained clotting factor concentrate, 24/7 access, rapid statewide delivery, and assay management are a few of the critical benefits available to IHTC pharmacy patients.

“IHTC’s commitment to providing the best care to achieve the best outcomes for our patients could not be possible without our strong integrated pharmacy program,” said IHTC’s CEO and Co-Medical Director, Amy Shapiro, M.D. “We are very proud of our team and its achievement of specialty pharmacy accreditation.”

“It’s necessary for specialty pharmacies to provide a higher level of treatment for patients so desired outcomes are achieved. IHTC shows a dedication to patient education and safety through the recognition of quality it received with URAC’s independent accreditation,” said URAC President and CEO Shawn Griffin, M.D. “With URAC accreditation, people know that IHTC strives to adhere to industry best practices.”
