Edward R. Schmidt is President and CEO of Silver Creek Partners, LLC, based in suburban Indianapolis.
He is a retired partner and former member of the executive committee of the Indianapolis based law firm, Krieg DeVault LLP. He formerly served as an Executive Vice President of Sallie Mae, Inc., as well as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of USA Group, Inc.
Mr. Schmidt is a member of the Indiana State and Indianapolis Bar Associations, and a Distinguished Fellow of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation. He received a B.S. from Susquehanna University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is a Presidential appointee of the Notre Dame Law School Advisory Council.
Mr. Schmidt is the Chairman of Healthcare Initiatives, Inc., an Indianapolis based private foundation, as well as a member of the Board of Chancellors of the Indiana-Kentucky Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He is the retired Board Chair and emeritus member of the Board of Trustees of Strada Education Foundation and an emeritus member of the Board of Trustees of Susquehanna University, where he served as Vice Chair. Former board memberships include Metro Bank of Indianapolis, Lumina Foundation for Education, Crossroads Rehabilitation Services and Riverview Hospital Foundation.
Mr. Schmidt serves as a member of the IHTC Executive and Finance Committees.
