What do you like about IHTC and its approach to care?
The comprehensive, personalized approach to care at IHTC aims to support the whole person. At IHTC, patients are seen as more than just their disease. One of the other things that attracted me to IHTC is the culture of innovative, collaborative, evidence-based reasoning to address the unique issues that our patients face.
What inspires you about your work?
Witnessing the strength and resilience of my patients and their families is always a humbling and inspiring experience. I feel very fortunate that I get to come to work every day and care for these amazing kids, while surrounded by other IHTC team members who are just as passionate about their work as I am. This is also an exciting time in the field of pediatric hematology. It’s motivating to see how all the new discoveries over the last decade have improved the lives of people with blood disorders.
What do you hope to accomplish for patients?
It sounds simple, but I truly hope to do everything in my power to help my patients live happy, healthy lives. Preventing disease complications by delivering the best possible care is always the goal. I hope people leave each clinic visit feeling heard, informed, supported, and empowered. I want my patients and their families to see themselves as part of their own healthcare team, all working towards a common goal.
